Grand Illumination

December 3, 2007

Well tonight was the Grand Illumination in Colonial Williamsburg. It started the Christmas season in the colonial times. All the candles are lit in the houses at 6:15 then the fireworks go off at 3 places on Duke of Gloucester street. It is so gorgeous there. I love the decorations made of fruit. There are a few of my favorites on here. Every year my mother and I say we are going to try and make them. Maybe this is the year. We had apple cider & snacks while we waited for the fireworks. Also got to hear the fife & drum corp. It is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. We actually got there early tonight and set up our chairs and walked around for an hour or so.
